German Linguistics Summer Academy

August 7th - August 21st, 2015

There will be 3 central course contents:
  • Language Change
  • Linguistic Typology
  • Intersubjectivity and Theory of Mind
The course on Language Change will focus on variants and invariants in grammaticalization processes. The course on Linguistic Typology will center on crosslinguistic functions (genotypes) and their language specific phenotypes. The course on intersubjectivity is devoted to linguistic techniques of coding illocutionary force, common ground and modality via epistemicity, evidentiality, and covert or unknown patterns of modality.

Target Group

Advanced Master and PhD students, young scientist in relevant fields of study with an outstanding program in German linguistics.
